Women’s Empowerment in Rural Egypt Moderators’ Training Session
As part of the Women’s Empowerment in Rural Egypt Project, a one-day training session for moderators was successfully conducted on April 13, 2025. This initiative marks an important step toward enhancing the health, wellbeing, and economic empowerment of women in rural communities.
The session brought together 12 moderators three from EBDA and nine from RDC under the supervision of Nana, a holistic health coach specializing in women’s health. She was supported by representatives from both EBDA and the project team.
The training focused on assessing the working conditions of women in SEKEM factories through site visits and observation. Insights from the day emphasized the need for tailored health and wellbeing sessions, aligning closely with the project’s goals.
In addition, moderators and supervisors engaged in planning future activities, scouting locations, and identifying potential participants for the first training group. The day concluded with clear plans and renewed motivation to continue building sustainable empowerment opportunities for women across rural Egypt.

Partnership with Concrete Fashion House
As part of our collaboration with Concrete, the Economy of Love developed a custom hang tag for the brand’s new clothing collection. The tag highlights that Concrete has offset its emissions through EoL-certified carbon credits, purchasing 1,000 credits via the Egyptian Stock Exchange to cover Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
In addition, Concrete launched a dedicated impactTrace webpage, now hosted on the EoL website. By scanning the QR code on the hang tag, consumers can explore the brand’s environmental impact and trace each item back to the farmers who cultivated the cotton.
