EoL Achievements

Regionalwert: Sustainability & Biodiversity Assessment

  • After the old indicators of the tool were updated and adjusted, all the questions in the tool were translated from English into Arabic to ensure better understanding and accessibility for farmers. In order to make it easier for farmers to respond, we created the tool in Google Form format. Ten farms were selected from three different governorates  (Damietta, Assiut, and Fayoum ) as pilot farms.
  • The team is currently in the pilot phase of the tool’s reveal process, following the completion of the form responses. This step will allow us to view the results of the Sustainability Report generated by the tool.

PGS

  • On July 2nd, a session about the PGS was conducted by Eng. Buthaina in the EBDA team meeting explained the system mechanism step by step starting from the farm’s registration to the certification.
  • The team has been working on organizing farm data. They collected and prepared data for all farms that were previously in paperwork format and compiled it into an Excel sheet. This was done to make the data accessible to both the Carbon Footprint Center (CFC) and the Center of Organic Agriculture in Egypt (COAE). Therefore, that certification process could begin.
  • Currently, audits are ongoing for the farms registered under the system in 2023 and 2024 farms as second and third audits. Those audits are taking place during June, July, and August, 2025.
