EoL Achievements

Sahara Exhibition

This month, the media team covered the Sahara Exhibition, one of the largest agricultural exhibitions in the region. The event spanned three days, and the team ensured full documentation of the activities, networking, and highlights.

These materials provide a strong visual documentation of the exhibition and are now being used across organizational communication channels.

cooperation agreement between EBDA and the Agricultural Engineering Research Institute

  1. Signing of a cooperation agreement between EoL and the Agricultural Engineering Research Institute to conduct training and guidance programs in the field of using modern agricultural equipment.
  2. Register a new farm as a member of the association.
  3. Attending a UNIDO workshop on the FARM project to support farmers in various areas of sustainable agricultural production to preserve the environment and the effects of climate change.
  4. Fair Trade : Documents for the two points of non-conformity regarding irrigation machines, basins and troughs have been sent, and photos proving compliance have been sent.

Sustainable Development for Global Impact-SDGI Conference

The Economy of Love (EoL) team led a workshop during the conference titled “The Transformative Power of the Economy of Love“.  Where EoL team started with a small check-in, the team activity started asking the attendees to write one word comes to their mind about “Economy of Love” and put each word matching with the dimension related to it or closely related so that make it easy to explain the overall definition of EoL, then divided the attendees into 3 groups for group discussion, to discuss a question which was: “Where in your own community/ work do you see opportunities to apply values of Love, Transparency, solidarity to transform how we do business relate to each other care for nature?” Then each group chose one to participate in to summarize the discussion the group had. The EoL 5 pillars (Education, Fund, Certification, Impact-Trace, and Carbon Credits) were then explained in an active way where the EoL team were divided into three groups and did rounds to explain the pillars. Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) Progress

Field-Centered Learning with the (PGS)

The training program for Groups 3 and 4 for the EBDA agronomists commenced with a field-centered session on the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS), led by Eng. Buthaina Idris. The session allowed participants to gain deeper insights into the PGS framework and its application in sustainable agriculture.

PGS Audits and Visits in September, 2025

During this month, an external inspection was carried out as part of the process to obtain the Demeter certification for the PGS system. The inspection included several visits related to the PGS system.

  • The first visit was conducted in Fayoum, where the inspectors reviewed the farm’s compliance with PGS standards.
  • The second inspection took place in Minya, focusing on farms operating under the PGS system.
  • The third visit was also in Fayoum, where the inspectors evaluated how the trainings are carried out within the project.

The aim was to provide them with an opportunity to network with other farmers, agricultural companies, and organizations. This activity was valuable for the farmers as it allowed them to build new connections, exchange knowledge, and strengthen their relationships within the agricultural sector.

As part of the Alfanar Project, farmers from Minya and Beni Suef were brought to participate in the Sahara Expo. The aim was to provide them with an opportunity to network with other farmers, agricultural companies, and organizations. This activity was valuable for the farmers as it allowed them to build new connections, exchange knowledge, and strengthen their relationships within the agricultural sector.

World Goetheanum Forum

Re-Think. Re-Feel. Re-Do.

These words came to life during the World Goetheanum Forum on September 24th – 27th, 2025. A new narrative for sustainable development has been co-created at SEKEM Farm in Sharqia, where more than 120 participants gathered with partners from 20 countries around the world. Participants shared moments of deep reflection, mindful dialogue, and inspiration as we explored a new narrative for sustainable development, one that unites justice in social relationships, freedom in cultural and human development, solidarity in economic value creation, and co-creation in ecology, all nourished by our inner and spiritual sources.

Baseline Study for the Economy of Love Carbon Project with Saudi Coffee Company

This study evaluates the current agricultural practices, socio-economic conditions, and environmental factors affecting the Saudi Coffee Company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It serves as a foundational reference for measuring the impact of the Economy of Love (EoL) project, which aims to support the company in transitioning to organic farming and in developing a certified carbon project. The EoL Carbon Project in the Jazan Region specifically targets the Saudi Coffee Company and includes six primary farms located in the Dayer Governorate. These farms collectively span 657 hectares and host approximately 550,458 coffee trees. A comprehensive baseline and feasibility study has been undertaken as a core component of the project.

EBDA Farmers’s Growth

EBDA extension engineers successfully registered 405 new farms in September that included 1912 farmers with a total area of 8,500 feddan.
